ENABLING PUBLIC HEALTH SUPPLY CHAIN TRANSFORMATION IN NAMIBIA SINCE 2021

LEADING EXAMPLES OF ARC’S WORK AND OUTCOMES IN NAMIBIA

PLACEMENT OF A SUPPLY CHAIN TECHNICAL RESOURCE

ARC is supporting the Central de Medicamentos e Artigos Médicos (CMAM) to sustainably manage the public pharmaceutical supply chain, including overseeing third- and fourth-party logistics delivery of essential medicines to 30 million people. ARC helped CMAM budget appropriately for its envisaged responsibility for nationwide last mile distribution. The output of the study was a 10-year investment plan indicating costs in various categories that match donor funding guidelines. ARC supported the work by forging a collaborative approach between multiple stakeholders, drawing alongside the CMAM to bring new approaches and applying learning from other countries.
